Mission is to reduce heating and cooling costs for the low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. There is a two-part approval process. (1) The applicant has to be approved based on income and (2) the existing condition of the home can't exceed the scope of our services. Don't wait to sign up, as the waiting list can be long. (in May of 2017 it was about a year)

These funds take 35 days to reach the utility and will NOT stop a shut off order, must qualify 
  • Crisis Home Energy Assistance Funds
Available on announced dates twice a year winter and summer, when funds are available, must qualify 
Both programs continue until funds are gone (but funds usually last only a few days to a few weeks)

ADVANCE PAY OPTION: Cost to set up is $80: $20 Membership, $40 Connection Fee, $20 Electricity Credit.
Power usage is checked every DAY AT 9:30 A.M. If utility credit is $0 power is shut off. No reconnect fee is charged if utility credit is brought up to $20 within 5 days. Power is restored immediately. If your struggle to pay monthly electric bill has resulted in paying reconnect fees and deposit installments, it may be time to investigate this program.
